The purpose of the Environmental Advisory Committee is to promote the protection, maintenance and enhancement of all aspects of the environment in the Township of Front of Yonge, and to safeguard and improve the quality of life for those who live and work in the community. The Committee provides evidence-based comments and recommendations on a broad range of environmental issues Meetings are held monthly.
Since the beginning of the 2022 – 2026 term of Council, the committee has taken a lead role in a number of projects and events, including:
- Implementing a Giveaway Table at the Waste Disposal Site
- Providing regular recycling reminders to residents via monthly newsletter and Facebook
- Sponsoring Community Cleanup and Roadside Giveaway activities
Planning is underway for more community activities to support: “Think Globally, Act Locally”
