The Economic Development Committee is predominantly comprised of local business people and interested citizens striving to enhance economic development opportunities and investment through active encouragement and assistance in business attraction, retention and expansion in Front of Yonge Township. The Committee is committed to the promotion of commercial and residential development, campaigning for this municipality as the place to live and work.
Since the beginning of the 2022 – 2026 term of Council, the committee has taken a lead role in a number of projects and events, including:
- Hosting ongoing networking events for FOY business owners
- Updating/maintaining the community business directory
- Hosting an annual Business & New Business of the Year event
- Working on a mapping project to promote local businesses
- Working with Council to develop a plan to address housing needs
